Alpha Studio nasce dalla visione e dall'impegno dell'Ing. Giuliano De Pascali e del Geom. Miriana Carofalo; è uno studio di ingegneria e architettura che offre ai suoi clienti attività di consulenza altamente specializzata in tutte le fasi di progettazione e realizzazione delle proprie idee.

Grazie ai costanti sforzi nella formazione del capitale umano, i progetti portati avanti dallo studio sono caratterizzati da una ricerca continua e a tutto campo (materiali, tecnologie, ecc.), in modo da garantire soluzioni innovative e sostenibili dal punto di vista ambientale ed economico.Il team, eterogeneo e multidisciplinare, opera nella complessa realtà del settore civile, proponendo interventi anche inediti, poiché talvolta la direzione migliore può essere quella ancora inesplorata.

Giuliano De Pascali

Ingegnere Civile - Civil Engineer

Al termine di un percorso di studi e ricerca portato avanti tra Italia e Francia, nel 2014 ottiene la laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Civile presso l'Università del Salento e consegue l'abilitazione alla professione. Inizia l'attività professionale nel 2015 e si focalizza principalmente sulla progettazione strutturale. Dal 2016 è iscritto nell'elenco dei Certificatori di sostenibilità ambientale della regione Puglia e dal 2017 all'elenco dei professionisti antincendio del Ministero dell'Interno.

Miriana Carofalo

Geometra/Surveyor

Abilitata alla professione di Geometra dal 2014, inizia l'attività professionale nel 2015 concentrandosi soprattutto sulla progettazione architettonica, sui servizi catastali ed attività di consulenza; dal 2016 svolge, inoltre, l'attività di coordinatore per la sicurezza sui cantieri. Nel 2020 consegue la qualifica di BIM Specialist.

The requirement for a seismically advanced building prompted a thorough investigation resulting in the design of a base isolated building with a diagrid structure. The distinctive and modern diagrid structural system was adopted as a strong design driver, and has been flexed to create a subtle faceted curve on the building’s eastern face. A super-grid of geometric diamonds references the diagrid and breaks the façade into three main sections, giving scale and a vertical proportion. The faceted curve animates the façade, with changes in angle modifying the reflections of the tinted high performance glazing and enlivening the building in its important city and harbour context. As well as being seismically advanced, 20 Customhouse Quay also addresses a number of sustainable criteria that will enable the building to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating. A visible representation of the building’s sustainability is the external louvres on the north and west façades, which help to prevent solar gain and reduce the amount of energy required to cool the building.

In recognition of the building’s prime waterfront location, its contiguous floor plates have been designed to support modern flexible workplace planning and take advantage of views to the sea, down the quays and back to the city. Ample natural light is provided by floor to ceiling glazing and a three metre internal ceiling height.
